Historic Talmadge gets its name from three silent film stars – Norma, Natalie, and Constance Talmadge. In 1927, the sisters opened the Talmadge Park real estate development, which contains streets named for each of them. The neighborhood's architecture is eclectic, with styles ranging from Spanish revival and California bungalow to Cape Cod cottages and Normandy style homes. Cliff May, a renowned Southern California architect, designed several homes in Talmadge. The community is centrally-located with easy access to all things San Diego.
